What is Level 2?

Network-side electrical work

In NSW, electrical work is split at the meter. A standard licensed electrician works on your side: wiring, switchboards, lights and power. Work on the network side (the overhead or underground service from the street, the point of attachment, the meter and private poles) must be carried out by an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), commonly called a Level 2 electrician.

Excel Building and Power's electrical division holds Grade A Level 2 accreditation with both Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy, covering all four classes of work across Greater Sydney.

Level 2, building and civil work under one contract.

Because we're also builders, the trenching, making good, cladding, render and carpentry that often surround Level 2 jobs are done by the same team. That matters for builders, strata and insurance work where several trades meet at the meter box.

Connections that don't hold up handover

Power connection is a common critical-path delay on residential builds. We plan the Level 2 scope early, prepare the drawings and applications, and schedule the install around your program, then coordinate metering with your Level 1 electrician or do it ourselves.

Strata & insurance

Mains, meters and storm damage

For strata buildings we handle consumer mains, metering upgrades and defect notices on common property. After storms we make safe and repair torn-down service lines and point-of-attachment damage 24/7, as part of an emergency or insurance job.
